Climbing is engaging and fun for people of all ages, and no experience is necessary. Crimper’s climbing walls have a variety of climbs at all levels from beginner to expert. Anyone can feel the thrill indoor climbing at Crimper’s. Whether you are climbing or simply watching, fun will be in the air and any reluctance to try to climb will disappear. Youth 5-18 years. With the Outdoor Discovery trip, participants not only learn how to camp, canoe, cave, rock climb, and other adventure activities but we will also blend it with more traditional summer camp activities including archery, soccer, kickball, and capture-the-flag which are more familiar to most kids.

The Virginia Museum of Transportation’s outstanding rail collection includes the only remaining examples of the N&W’s legendary success: the N&W Class A 1218 and the Class J 611(currently offsite for restoration). The N&W Class Y6a 2156, the last of the N&W Big Three, comes home to Roanoke in early 2015! In our Rail Yard, explore historic steam and diesel engines, cabooses, and other rail equipment as modern trains rumble past. Inside the Museum, enjoy model trains and hands-on exhibits, stroll among our antique automobiles, and explore our truck, bus, and aviation exhibits!

An outdoor aquatic facility featuring two 34-foot high slides, a current river, children’s sprayground and more!  Operated by Roanoke County’s department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, this facility provides a great place to cool off during the summer months. Splash Valley Water Park is located directly adjacent to Roanoke County’s Green Ridge Recreation Center, but requires a separate admission.

Water Park: designed for children to experience fun and laughter while spending the day at the pool. Water Park has a water slide, pipe waterfall, arch spray, mushroom spray, and lemon drop deck spray and therapy jets. Water park will be open Monday – Sunday.
