Hell Climb | Pembroke – Newport

The Hell Climb 10K+ is a 6.5-mile hill climb from the base of Mountain Lake in Giles County Virginia to the cool clear air at the summit. Runners will ascend more than 1,800 feet as they follow Mountain Lake Road.

Shenandoah Epic Adventure Race

Now in year 7 the Shenandoah Epic adventure race has become one of the must-do adventure races every year. Whether you are a returning athlete or trying a 24-hour race for the first time, this is definitely an event you want on your 2017 calendar. With nearly 90% of new terrain to explore and a format turned on its head from previous years, the Shenandoah Epic will dish up some challenging trekking, biking, and paddling that will test teams for a full 24 hours. With both optional and mandatory checkpoints on the course, seasoned adventure racers and those new to the sport will be able to plot their adventure to match both skill and endurance level.

Claytor Lake Ness Monster Obstacle Race | Dublin

Mountains of Misery | Newport

Mountains of Misery is a challenging bike ride for dedicated road cyclists through the heart of southwest Virginia. The annual timed event features century (100+ mi) and double-metric century (200 km/124+ mi) options—both ending in a tough, four-mile 12%–16% graded climb to the finish.

Eastern Divide Ultra and 8-Miler | Pembroke

The Eastern Divide Ultra is a scenic 50K trail race through the highlands of southwest VA.  The point-to-point course will pass beneath waterfalls, meander through old growth Hemlocks and glide by waist high ferns.  While we may not have the grand heights of the West, the Mountain Lake area has an average elevation of 4000′, which provides for cooler temperatures and a diverse ecosystem.

The “Short Course” is an ~8 mile option that will allow runners to experience some of the Eastern Divide Ultra. This course will utilize the final 8 miles of the ultra course, mostly singletrack and lots of ferns.

Kids in Training Youth Triathlon | Blacksburg

The TriAdventure Kids In Triathlon (KIT) Triathlon was created to provide an educational platform for youth to have fun staying active. By focusing on swimming, cycling & running, our hope is to introduce participants to activities that offer lifelong healthy opportunities for physical achievement. Distances are appropriate for all children to successfully complete the race.

Claytor Lake Sprint Trialthlon | Dublin

Muddy ACCE Race | Glen Lyn

The Muddy ACCE Race, in its second year, is a 5K obstacle course mud run that takes place along the New River Water Trail in Virginia’s Mountain Playground! This mud run event provides scholarships and community service opportunities as the Giles Access to Community College Education (ACCE) program, to over a third of graduating seniors from Giles County schools.

High Bridge Ultra 50K | Pamplin

The High Bridge Trail is 31 miles long and runs through the towns of Burkeville, Farmville, Pamplin City, Prospect, and Rice. Its flat and fast, this former railroad bed it made for running! Along the way runners will pass through forests in full Fall Colors, over streams and creeks and across the famous High Bridge, for which the trail is named!
